New Yorkers for Constitutional Freedoms PAC (NYCFPAC) is pleased to report that four of the six candidates we endorsed this year won their respective races.
In New York’s 22nd Congressional District, NYCFPAC-endorsed Asm. Claudia Tenney (R, C—New Hartford) prevailed over opponents Kim Myers (D) and Martin Babinec (I) by a margin of 44%-38%-12%. Asm. Tenney overcame significant obstacles in this race, including a primary contest with a well-funded establishment Republican, the presence of a monied independent candidate who intended to caucus with Republicans, and the refusal of the Republican incumbent—pro-abortion, pro-same-sex-“marriage” Rep. Richard Hanna—to endorse her candidacy. NYCFPAC congratulates Asm. Tenney on her hard-fought victory and believes that her district will benefit greatly from the representation of a true conservative.
In State Senate District 46, NYCFPAC-endorsed Sen. George Amedore (R, C, I, REF, G—Rotterdam) defeated Democrat Sara Niccoli, 60%-35%. This race was expected to be competitive, as the Democratic Party has an enrollment advantage of more than 10,000 voters in Senate District 46; however, Sen. Amedore’s conservative record and record of service to the community enabled him to win a resounding victory.
In State Senate District 49, NYCFPAC-endorsed Asm. Jim Tedisco (R, C, I, REF—Glenville) breezed past Democrat Chad Putman, 66%-29%. Asm. Tedisco will succeed Sen. Hugh Farley (R-Schenectady), who is retiring after having served in the State Senate since 1977.
In Assembly District 150, NYCFPAC-endorsed Asm. Andy Goodell (R, C, I, REF—Jamestown) won his fourth term in the New York State Assembly, defeating Democrat Jason Perdue, 70%-24%.
NYCFPAC congratulates all four candidates on their victories and looks forward to their continued efforts to advance Christian principles in Albany, NY and Washington, DC.
In Assembly District 104, NYCFPAC-endorsed Rev. Bill Banuchi (C, REF—Newburgh) was defeated by incumbent Democratic Asm. Frank Skartados, and in Assembly District 116, NYCFPAC-endorsed John Byrne, III (R, C, I, REF—Cape Vincent) was defeated by incumbent Democratic Asm. Addie Jenne Russell. NYCFPAC thanks both men for their efforts and wishes them the best.
