Today, New Yorkers for Constitutional Freedoms Political Action Committee (NYCFPAC), New York’s only statewide Christian PAC, is issuing its first endorsement of the 2020 election cycle. NYCFPAC endorses Liz Joy for U.S. House of Representatives in New York’s 20th Congressional District (NY-20). Joy (R-Schenectady) is a candidate for the Republican and Conservative lines in NY-20. The district encompasses all of Albany and Schenectady Counties, eastern Montgomery County, western Rensselaer County, and southern Saratoga County; it is currently represented by Rep. Paul Tonko (D-Amsterdam), a Pelosi ally who has held elected office for over 41 years. Jason J. McGuire, Executive Director of NYCFPAC, made the following comments:
“NYCFPAC is very pleased to endorse Liz Joy for Congress in NY-20 in 2020. There’s a lot to like about Liz: She is a writer; a realtor; a community leader; a staunch, full-spectrum conservative; a passionate defender of the sanctity of life; wife to a military veteran; mom; and a committed Christian. She would make a fantastic Member of Congress.”
“Liz is no stranger to swimming against the tide. Some years ago, she had the audacity to create a blog on the website of the Albany Times Union to offer an alternative perspective on issues affecting the state and the nation. In 2016, Liz authored a book entitled “How to Be Salt and Light: The Christian’s Guide to Voting.” Two years later, Liz was named President of Republican Women of Schenectady County; under her leadership, the club has grown by leaps and bounds. Liz has also actively campaigned for conservative candidates in the Capital Region.”
“In August 2018, Liz encountered an emergency situation at an unexpected location: A local nail salon. When a crazed, knife-wielding man entered the salon and attacked his estranged wife, Liz sprang into action. She fought with the man—risking her own life in the process—and summoned help from others who were able to subdue him. While the woman was seriously injured, she survived. Liz did, too, but required months of physical therapy for the injuries she incurred. She believes that it was God’s will for her to be present during this emergency so that she could help save the life of the woman being attacked.”
McGuire concluded, “Liz Joy is exactly the kind of strong, selfless leader New Yorkers need representing them in Washington. We call on voters in NY-20 to offer her their full support.”
NYCFPAC encourages financial contributions to Liz Joy’s campaign. Contributions can be made online.
